A TASte of the Philippines

For Filipino Heritage Month, I collaborated with Kasama Chocolate to design packaging for a special release inspired by mango float—a beloved Filipino dessert. The flavour, Crema de Mangga, draws on nostalgia, celebration, and the joy of sharing food as a cultural experience. The goal was to create packaging that feels vibrant, familiar, and rooted in Filipino identity while standing out on shelf.

Summer in Every Bite

The illustration for the Crema de Mangga chocolate bar was designed to feel vibrant, summery, and full of energy. I wanted to capture the nostalgic joy of the dessert by showcasing its key ingredients—ripe mangoes, cream, and graham crackers—layered together in a playful and dynamic way. The composition leans into a more graphic and simplified style, using bold shapes and movement to evoke both the lightness and richness of the flavour.

As part of the collaboration, I had the opportunity to visit Kasama Chocolate’s kitchen and take part in testing and making a batch of the chocolate bar itself. Getting hands-on experience with the tempering and production process gave me a deeper appreciation for the craft behind bean-to-bar chocolate, and allowed me to more closely connect the illustration with the final product.
