Hi, I’m Fyonna!

I’m an illustrative graphic designer who uses design as a way to connect people, tell meaningful stories, and spark positive change. My practice is rooted in designing for good—a human-centered approach that prioritizes social and humanitarian impact, values transparency and ethics, and aims to make life a little better for people, even in small and quiet ways. I’m especially passionate about working with organizations advancing racial, cultural, and disability justice, where design becomes a bridge to more joyful, equitable futures.

Illustration is woven into everything I do. It’s how I process the world, how I communicate ideas, and how I bring purpose-driven narratives to life. Whether I’m developing campaign visuals, brand identities, or murals, I’m always thinking about how imagery can create resonance, belonging, and emotional clarity. Through murals and other public-facing projects, I hope to uplift spaces and create moments that spark connection, comfort, and joy for the people who pass by.

Outside of my creative practice, I’m constantly gathering inspiration from the world around me: documentaries that shift my perspective, new restaurants around Vancouver, and stand-up comedy that brings a sense of lightness into my days. Everything I do is rooted in curiosity, care, and a deep belief in the power of art to bring people together.

I’m grateful to live and work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation).

my creative journey

2007

Manila → Vancouver

Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, I moved to Vancouver, BC with my family at a young age. I started art classes at 5 and never really stopped — spending my childhood and teen years drawing, painting, and exploring anything creative.

2018

Art School Dreams

I graduated high school and got into my dream art school, Emily Carr University. Even with a fine arts background, I chose Communication Design — it felt like the bridge between creativity and the digital world.

2020

a pandemic pivot

During the lockdown, I interned remotely for a Filipino social impact design studio. That experience reshaped everything for me — it solidified my desire to use design for good and work with mission-driven organizations.

2022

my first big girl job!

Right after graduating, I joined a small boutique design studio as an illustrator and designer. It was my first big step into the professional creative world.

2026

finding my path

Today, I work for a boutique agency in Ontario as a social media manager and graphic designer. I’m also building my freelance practice, partnering with organizations that align with my values, culture, and passions. I’m excited, grateful, and genuinely loving where my creative journey is heading.
