whai ontario Amplifying Strength, Sexual Health, and Solidarity
WHAI Ontario (Women & HIV/AIDS Initiative) is an organization focused on improving the health and wellbeing of women living with or at risk of HIV. Through community partnerships, education, advocacy, and culturally grounded programming, WHAI supports women by addressing gendered stigma, reproductive health, and the structural barriers that shape their experiences.
For the Love Positive Women campaign, the 2026 visual direction draws on WHAI’s activist history and the half-tone textures from this year’s inspirations. The concept blends strength with femininity to spotlight sex positivity, reproductive health, and the resilience of African, Caribbean, and Black women.
The use of textured illustrations, overprinted layers, and culturally resonant colours grounds the campaign in both WHAI’s brand identity and the communities it serves, creating a visual language that is as dynamic and powerful as the movement itself.

Textured Layers, Powerful Metaphors
Lyrical, block-print style illustrations have been created with a texture ideal for layering, in order to create the printed effect at the centre of the campaign. By placing two illustrations one on top of the other at varying transparencies, the artwork gains depth, and we are able to combine different symbols for more powerful metaphors.
